The word calligraphy is used to describe an assortment of different styles of handwritten letters. So, if you’re someone wanting to learn calligraphy, how do you know where to start? How do you find out what styles you’re interested in?

This class is ideal for those new to calligraphy and ready to begin experimenting with it. Students will be presented with a broad overview of what calligraphy is as well as the information needed to start writing. We will learn how to use the three primary types of calligraphy tools--pointed pen, broad-edge pen, and brush – all of which yield very different styles of letters. And students will be provided with take-home tools and exemplars (letter examples) for three different calligraphy styles as well as watch writing demos and do some preliminary writing practice themselves.

This class will be a perfect venue to ask questions, experiment with pens, and have a fun morning with fellow letter-curious folks. Take-home supplies are included in the cost!
