In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of book-binding: how to determine paper grain, fold and tear down larger sheets of paper, prepare signatures and covers, and sew a pamphlet binding. We'll do a 3-hole stitch, a 5-hole stitch, and a chain stitch, all of which can be used to make single-section notebooks for all kinds of purposes. We'll also experiment with adding turn-ins and endsheets, too, so that you have multiple options to add pattern and color play as you plan for your book. Supplies will include instructional handouts and four sheets of 19 x 12.5" text paper as well as access to various colors of waxed linen thread and decorative and solid colored papers for endsheets and covers.  Go home with a few adorable handmade books and leftover paper to make more!
