Summer just doesn't feel like summer--even as an adult!--without a nod to the ritual of camp. Hiking for miles. Learning all the silly trail songs. Drifting in canoes and feeling sunshine positively sink into your pores. Reading beat-up paperbacks. Lying on your back and looking for constellations while crickets and frogs sing their hearts out. Gathering around a campfire, telling stories and trying to keep marshmallows from catching fire. Whispering and giggling in the dark. Making new friends and pledging to carry on as pen pals. The scents of sunscreen and lake and cabin and ash. There's so much goodness that happens at camp that we will forever be nostalgic for, and we don't see any reason why we shouldn't recreate it in our own way. So! We are bringing back Camp Postscript over the summer break, and we hope you will join us for any or all of it. And please bookmark this post, campers, because it is your full itinerary!
Our camp mission this summer is to “explore the interior.” Interiors are our specialty here at Postscript, and our camp aims to assist you in getting to more intimately know the terrain of your own mind and heart in the context of the natural world surrounding us. To that end, we are designing and printing a Camp Postscript registration packet that will be available for purchase in person beginning May 31st, full of goodies meant to inspire you to treat your summer as a sabbatical of sorts. In addition, from the end of May through the first weekend of August, we'll have weekly events evocative of good old-fashioned camp fun. We are running a host of new workshops, all of which are up and ready for registration as of today. We are also stocking our tables with camp-inspired paper goods, as well as tube socks, bandanas, and custom Camp Postscript ringer tees. And for our shop friends near and far who want to partake in the full adventure, we are offering a “Camp Postscript Summer Supply Drop"--the official registration packet followed by a series of three mailings filled with beautifully designed and infinitely useful goods to assist you in exploring the interior all summer long. Whew! I feel like a camp director, whistle and lanyard around my neck and clipboard in hand, who has just barked a bunch of information at you. But! We are pleased as bug juice to finally be able to share the fun and will continue to roll out info as we get closer to the official launch. Interested in experiencing Camp Postscript, but too far away to make the drive? We've got you! Introducing “Camp Postscript: Summer Supply Drop"! It's a camp-by-mail experience that will bring summer at Postscript right to your doorstep. Here are the details: register, and you will receive our house-designed and printed Camp Postscript registration, followed by three mailings full of camp-inspired goodies in June, July, and August.
The camp registration packet will include a welcome letter, the summer schedule, camp cash, a book of campfire questions, and a bundle of postcards! In June, you'll receive a supply drop to help you “Observe & Collect”; in July, it will help you “Study & Make”, and the August supply drop will encourage you to “Reflect & Connect”. Every supply drop will include shop-exclusive, limited edition offerings.
