Poetry by Post
Created by a doctor of literature turned letterpress printer and calligrapher, Poetry by Post offers a material and meaningful encounter with poetry through the romance of the letter. It is the printer’s belief that poetry is a lifeline, as necessary to human wholeness as heartbeat is to the living body; Poetry by Post is her attempt to proselytize that belief by sending an achingly beautiful poem across time and space to you, dear reader, each month.
Every two-color letterpress-printed issue will consist of a 15 x 7" tri-fold featuring a thoughtfully selected poem accompanied by a brief literary essay and imagistic play. These items will be enclosed within an A7 envelope adorned with hand-lettering, vintage stamps, and a wax seal and will be delivered right to your doorstep, courtesy of the United States Postal Service.
The subscription service for the 2020 calendar year will be comprised of poems by Victoria Chang, Major Jackson, Ted Kooser, Li-Young Lee, Eric McHenry, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Naomi Shihab Nye, Amy Plettner, Chelsea Rathburn, A. E. Stallings, Mary Szybist, and Natasha Trethewey.
Monthly payments will be processed on the 5th day of the month, and the mailings will be shipped mid-month.
