Pocket Portfolios & The Paper Slipcase

This workshop will examine a variety of simple non-adhesive (no glue) bindings with portfolio pockets, as well as the technique for making paper slipcases custom-sized to your individual needs. Students will make a portfolio binding model with a one- or two-section pamphlet sewn into a double weight cover featuring a back cover pocket. This model can be adapted to several variations that accommodate a wide range of materials and structural needs. Participants will also acquire the technique for making a slipcase from a single sheet of paper folded to custom fit a small bound book.

Students should bring a book that is 5x7" or smaller for this exercise. Other supplies are included.
